ABOUT THE EVENT
Saturday Club Launch
Saturday 17th March 2018 represents an evolution for Sheridan Bruins Toastmasters Club because it will be the first Saturday meeting at Trafalgar, which will deliver a FORMAL Toastmasters program. For 18 weeks last year an informal Saturday program was delivered at the HMC Campus, but it did not build traction and ended up being 40 to 70% of the attendance of a regular weekday meeting.
This time by making Saturday a deeply formal meeting and creating an alliance with other Toastmasters clubs, we can meet volume of membership but also focus on aiming for quality practice. That will allow the Tuesday club to focus on a more informal approach, that includes workshops and creative and adaptive agenda. This should draw members in on the Tuesday club but also provide an avenue for those students who want to excel as Toastmasters.
THE TRAFALAR ALLIANCE
About The Trafalgar Alliance
We know that we need an alliance approach in order to create a viable weekend program. Including other campus clubs in that alliance means that they get to advance their speaking program also, and we get sufficient members to attend so that all roles can be filled and participation can lead to added value for all members.
Initially the alliance will be a partnership between the Sheridan Bruins Toastmasters Club at the Trafalgar Campus and the HMC based club, as we develop this alliance, we will look to identify Sheridan College students and alumni at other Toastmasters clubs and either they can directly join our program or we can extend the alliance for those members.
