At Sheridan Bruins Toastmasters at the Trafalgar Campus, we equally celebrate our mandate as a Student Union inaugurated club as we do our Toastmasters charter registration. Both mandates serve our Club members and the Club in addition to serve Students needs. One of those needs is professional branding.

While personal branding can be a highly formulaic and stereotypical mindset, at our club we look to professional branding at the highest level as our guide to education regarding branding. At the personal level each club member is a student first and foremost but some club members do have brand presence online, so since a part of our clubs mandate is communication skills, we look to build our club competency in the area of professional branding.
While personal branding gets the lion share of attention, it often does not reflect branding competencies at the highest level of agency executives and advertising firms. At our club we look to the highest standards of branding to inform our club education about professional branding as added value.
In addition to our student club prerogative to note those student members who are interested in their own brand development, there is also branding guidelines from Toastmasters International in terms of pure Toastmasters branding. We are mindful of that as much as we are mindful that we also represent the brand of "Sheridan Bruins".
Toastmasters is for the Individual
Toastmasters education is predicated on the individual and each club member is responsible for their own educational pathway. Where we can help each other to become more versed in great branding practice, that represents an additional educational opportunity as a student club.
Branding is just one interest area in the club and we have noted a few members in our club who arrived at the club with some kind of prior branding presence online. We look forward to learning from each other and building that competency for club members who can benefit from this form of personal development and presence education.
