Dr. Grammarian
This theme runs the full week beginning on our Tuesday meeting at 6pm and continuing to our Saturday meeting at 1pm. It will help us focus on the role of the Grammarian, develop our own club practices and assist our members to evolve and innovate the educational possibilities of this role
THE CREATIVE CAMPUS
The Creative Campus
Some student clubs are considered as academic and this is a long-standing traditional view of a student club. It is a view that is outdated in terms of a 21st Century Context. Today creativity and innovation are the mindset of the 21st Century.
Academic clubs exist in a time warp governed by the so called "factory model" of education. It is focused on a view of education that has been handed down through the Industrial Age and informed even by medieval times. It is more hierarchical, rote and conditioned. It is a conveyor belt that is as automated in its approach as conceptions such as "career path".
The Creative Campus facilitates three types of thinking - which are
Critical Thinking
Creative Thinking
Reflective Thinking
At Sheridan College, we at Sheridan Bruins Toastmasters @ The Trafalgar Campus don't want to fit an academic model, we want to explore and find meaning in an emergence called "education".
